The Optimus infrared quartz radiant heater provides instant sun-like warmth for fast focused spot heating. This energy-efficient unit has two heat settings and safety shut off.The product may not turn on if the safety feature of the tip-over safety switch. It is on the bottom of the unit, if the heater is sitting on a soft type of carpet and not on a hard surface, that tip-over switch will not be pushed in an engaged. This is a safety feature to protect in case the unit gets knocked over for any reason, the unit will turn off on its own.
